Description
Esprit Flechier was a French priest and author whose works were known more for their wittiness than their depth. This is a very attractive edition of his historical work on the life of Theodosius the Great, the “Nouvelle Edition” is bound in speckled Leather with a very nice swirled endpaper. There is some scuffing to the edges, especially the front edge where the leather has worn away, scuffs and crackle to the front hinge, loss of material to the corners and bending. The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping.
