Written by Himself, and now published from an Original Manuscript in the Custody of John Earl of Corke and Orrery with some Explanatory Notes. Robert Carey, Printed by J. Hughs near Lincoln’s-Inn-Fields, London,1759, frontispiece, 200 pp plus index and errata, full leather, 8.25 x 5.5”, 8vo. In good condition. Spine has been nicely redone in recent years. Dated with gilt work, five raised bands. Original boards have been nicely incorporated into new spine. Original boards exhibit wear along edges and corners.. scuffing and light abrasions to surface. End papers have been kept in their original state. Interior has minor toning with light foxing. Free of known marginalia. Binding tight and secure. Please see photos. Great frontispiece of Elizabeth I in Royal Procession with her court. Robert Carey, 1st Earl of Monmouth was an English nobleman and courtier. He was the youngest son of Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon, chamberlain and first cousin of Queen Elizabeth I, and Anne Morgan, daughter of Sir Thomas Morgan and Anne Whitney. COLH1759CHJL-variant

    The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home. Welcome home to this little gem in the form of a small book. I will take very good care of you! I highly recommend this seller.

    Just picked up my package from Robin Rare Books and let me start by saying WOW!!! Book as advertised for sure. the value of the book certainly dictated some care in shipping but never did I think to this extent. The packaging was incredible. bigger box than needed at first thought but after opening based on the care and multiple layers of packing It would have survived a Tank rolling over it. Very grateful for you listing and working with me on the book, true piece of history I will cherish
