Including an account of the trial of Travaillac for the murder of Henry the Great in volume six, as well as a thorough index. ESTC Reference N21986 CONDITION In a full calf binding. Externally smart with some shelf wear and a slight rubbing to the leather, as well as a minimal loss to the head and tail of the spine. The spine to all volumes is slightly darkened. With James Pope-Hennessy's bookplate to the front pastedown to each volume. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint scattered spotting affecting particularly the leaves of plates and the endpapers. Otherwise, the pages are generally clean throughout with only a faint age toning, as usual due to the type of paper used. Illustrated with a folding map of France and a two portraits to the first volume. The map with a marginal tear and the usual minor chipping.
