Scuffing and wear to boards. Tips are bumped with exposed board. Spine is cracked and chipped, illegible. Provenance in ink on flyleaf (Samuel Miller, Dec. 11, 1802). Toning, age-staining, and foxing throughout; text is still legible. 25/26 has a tear at the bottom of the page. Binding intact but fragile; some pages feel loose. Numerous diagrams throughout. Please see photos. Nicolas Pike (1743 - 1819) was an American mathematician who published the first American textbook on mathematics. Just picked up my package from Robin Rare Books and let me start by saying WOW!!! Book as advertised for sure. the value of the book certainly dictated some care in shipping but never did I think to this extent. The packaging was incredible. bigger box than needed at first thought but after opening based on the care and multiple layers of packing It would have survived a Tank rolling over it. Very grateful for you listing and working with me on the book, true piece of history I will cherish
