A collection of pacifist lectures by noted clergyman Noah Worcester (1758-1837). He published several important tracts on religious subjects, and appears to have had some unorthodox views of the Holy Trinity. Worcester reflected on the effects of war and became a pacifist after the War of 1812. In this work he argued that violence and destruction of war was inconsistent with Christian values. He found the Massachusetts Peace Society, and went to forefront a popular anti-war movement that emerged in American after the War of 1812. Scarce. COLR1816DKLS-623

This book far exceeded my expectations! It’s in the most pristine condition of any of the old books that I own. Robins Rare Books is amazing. Always a great value, very well packaged, quick shipping and always as described. I am a repeat customer and will always check listing from this seller first when I’m in the market for an antiquarian book.

This arrived safely and it was well packaged. This is exactly as described and it included a thank you on a postcard. This was well thought out and the seller knows how to handle and ship rare books. This was worth more than it was sold for, in my opinion, and I greatly appreciate doing business with this person.
