An enquiry by Thomas Gardiner Bramston in which he explores the agricultural distress of the first two decades of the nineteenth century. The first half of the nineteenth century saw a lot of agricultural distress, in part due to the Enclosure Acts and the Corn Laws. Enclosure in rural Britain led to riots and much social unrest. The Corn Laws were high tariffs and trade restrictions brought in on imported food and corn, between the years 1815 and 1846. Bramston was a politician who later defended the Corn Laws. Very speedy delivery and extremely well packaged. The book is in wonderful condition for age, better I think than described. This now sits alongside a companion volume, another work of Worcestershire historian and antiquarian, John Noak. I very much looking forward to reading it. As for price, I snatched the offer and am extremely pleased that I did. This seller is a perfect find on eBay and I would purchase from them without hesitation, saved seller, excellent.

Thank you so much, Katherine, for a truly pluperfect transaction.
