Illustrated with an engraved title page, and with eighteen hand coloured plates illustrated by Henry Thomas Alken and T.J. Rawlins. Collated, complete. Known for his eccentric behaviour, this is a wonderful biography of the British Rake John Mytton, a notable figure in Regency era England, who was briefly a Conservative MP. Retaining the original half title, and with two pages of advertisements to the rear. A lovely copy of this beautifully illustrated work. CONDITION Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with tide marks throughout the work to the lower half of the majority of leaves. Light spotting throughout, most concentrated to page perimeters. Overall Condition: Very Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.
