This work was written by Samuel Maunder, and English writer who wrote many treasuries and reference works including this dictionary. This work provides and extensive dictionary of biographical works, arranged alphabetically with a bibliography to the rear. The work was very popular, directing it's readers to the important figures in Britain, and their biographies, at the time of it's publication. CONDITION Bound in full straight grain morocco. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, a mark to the rear board and very minimal rubbing to the rear joint. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with spotting to the front and rear. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.
