Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, two double paged plates, twenty-nine monochrome plates, and in-text engravings. Collated, complete. Henry VIII is possibly one of the most infamous figures of the British royalty. His six marriages, none of which ended well, has placed him in a legendary status in history. He was of the House of Tudor, and was the father to Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. This biography follows him throughout his life, not only looking at his relationships, but looking at his status and stature as King, taking a more political viewpoint on him. By Albert Pollard, a British historian who specialised in the Tudor period. Some of opinions have been greatly discussed and criticised by other historians, such as his negative view of Mary I, and his opinion that the Tudor's foreign policy was driven by Thomas Wolsey's desire to become Pope. Excellent in every respect; much better than originally described and pictured. The shipping was exceptionally fast, and the books arrived precisely on schedule. The packaging was both robust and thoughtful, which always makes a most distinct difference. I am grateful for this great value and for your having accepted my offer. Thank you so much, Katherine, for a truly pluperfect transaction.

The shipping was lightning fast, arriving in 3 days from UK to US. The book was packaged with extreme care, very important for an antique book. The overall condition of the book is also unbelievable for its age, even better than described. I’ve purchased numerous other books from this seller, and the quality and price have always been outstanding. Great eBay seller. Thanks!

A+ Top Ebayer. The Book is an amazing piece of history. It is def authentic. Grades are a little generous in the listing at Near fine and good for a book that is 115 years old. Seller was fast to answer questions and it was shipped at ludicrous speed as I received it 2 days later. I would buy again and I encourage others to have the confidence to do so as well.
