Description
Found at an estate sale, this handsome leather-bound copy of Autobiography in the Ancient World, Volume 1 (F. Tyler Daniels, 1918) has unfortunately suffered a bit from the ravages of time (see photos). It’s copy 22 of the Presidents Edition and is registered in the name of John Frederick Duthie. One thousand and 50 numbered and registered sets of the original 15-volume Presidents Edition were published. Unfortunately this volume was the only one of the set at the estate sale. The colors of the embossed leather cover have faded and the top of the spine has torn (see photos). The binding is tight and since some of the pages have never been cut apart it appears that this book may never have been read. The pages are yellowed and the bottoms of the first few page are torn (see photos), perhaps due to a defect in printing. This volume covers the period 3800 B.C.E.-430 A.D. It begins with King Sargon and ends with Saint Augustine. The publisher is F. Tyler Daniels Company (New York). The Presidents Edition is part of the University Library of Autobiography. If you're dissatisfied with this book in any way, you can return it in the same condition in which you received it within 30 days for a full refund. Shipping will be by USPS Media Mail with no additional handling charge. Washington state residents pay 10% state and local sales tax.
