Description
Charles Anton's "A System Of Greek Prosody & Metre" is a rare and valuable first edition book published by Harper & Brothers of Cliff Street, New York in 1839. This leather-bound book, printed in English, is a reference guide focused on language study for schools and colleges, specifically in the area of Greek prosody and metre. Authored by Charles Anton and published in New York, this collectible piece offers insights into the study of Greek language and serves as a valuable addition to any antique book collection. The front leather board is a little warped, as found, and as I am not an antique book dealer, I cannot say if the remedy for that is easy or hard, but hazard a guess in saying, that I am sure it can be ‘cured’. Scuffs on the leather exterior boards, as you can see in the pictures, marbled page edges also shown. No real notations as such , marked in ink on inside front board and then two pencil notations…a price on one page a surname on another, both can likely be erased! 270 numbered pages. I have researched this title and have not found another. This would make a great addition to any collector’s pile of Greek informational, language reference books, or a great addition to a collection of Anton’s books from the same period, looks great just looking at the spine sitting on a bookshelf. Please feel free to make an offer! Thanks for looking!

This was probably the best most carefully packaged item that I have ever received from eBay. The product was exactly as described, honestly even better than described. The shipping was so fast, the seller returned $40 to me due to over priced shipping on accident that I didn’t even notice. A very honest seller! The value of these glasses are perfect. I am so in love with these this seller was fantastic and would definitely recommend!

It was clever to package this in a jewelry padded jewelry box {not a paper one). It insured that the snuff box your carefully photographed and accurately described would arrive in perfect condition. Thank you for shipping it so quickly. It brings me joy.
