Description

Easton Press leather edition Tom Brokaw's "A Long Way From Home: Growing Up in the American Heartland," Certificate of Authenticity numbered 495 out of 1350, one of the SIGNED FIRST EDITION series, PERSONALLY SIGNED by TOM BROKAW, Illustrated with Period Photographs, published in 2002. Bound in brown leather, the book has camel tan moire silk end leaves, acid-free paper, Symth-sewn binding, a satin bookmarker, hubbed spine, gold gilding on three edges--- in FINE condition. Thomas John Brokaw, who was born in 1940, is an American retired network journalist and author. He first served as the co-anchor of The TODAY SHOW from 1976 to 1981 with JANE PAULEY , then as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News for 22 years (1982–2004). At this position he was one of the "Big Three anchors" along with DAN RATHER and PETER JENNINGS. Brokaw showcases his South Dakota boyhood and family history, growing up during the post-World War II years. I lived the "idyllic life of a fifties teenager. Evenings, our family's appointment with CHET HUNTLEY and DAVID BRINKLEY was for me a magical experience. Television was a godsend to those of us in remote areas." Brokaw played baseball, basketball and was the 'back up' quarterback on his high school team. He attended Iowa University for a year but did poorly. He then transferred to the University of South Dakota where he earned a degree in Political Science. He married his high school sweetheart, MEREDITH AULD----MISS SOUTH DAKOTA--- and they are the parents of daughters Jennifer, Andrea and Sarah. Brokaw wrote that "when John F. Kennedy was assassinated during my first year in a newsroom, my naivete was shattered, and for the next forty years I have been a traveler on a landscape of great, wrenching change." Brokaw has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which was awarded to him by President BARACK OBAMA in 2014. Brokaw lives in New York and Montana. 233 pages, including an index. I offer Combined shipping.

Seller earns high marks for very safe wrapping, quick delivery and right price. Book is in excellent condition. To no fault of seller, and unusual deviation of normal high standards of the publisher, I would not recommend this book to others. It has has very disappointing photography that distracts from art of Rodin. But I highly recommend the seller.

Quite the surprised, at first I thought I ordered something from a pet shop because of the box turns out to be my order xD. My books were well packaged no noticeable box damage internally and externally. They were as described in the listing and shipped promptly in a 2 weeks window. Would recommend seller.
