Description
Just because Godzilla has wrecked countless cities and destroyed untold billions in property doesn't mean he's not a good guy. Although the scaly, atomic-breathing mutant might have been a sinister creature at one point, he's now reformed thanks to a small team of humans who've helped him work through his problems. Now he's dedicated his life to saving the planet from the other giant monsters that have begun to spring up around the globe. There's only one problem: No one else knows this, and they'll seek to destroy Godzilla even while he tries to help them. To make matters even worse, Godzilla's arch-nemesis, Cyber-Godzilla, is on the loose.

Godzilla the Series: Monster Wars is based on the animated series and is the sequel to 1999's Godzilla the Series. Godzilla's design is based on the "new" Godzilla from the 1998 movie. While the game put you in control of the giant monster, you only have a limited control over his actions. The game plays more like a shooter than other monster games such as King of the Monsters or Rampage. You control how fast Godzilla walks, but only half of the beast is on stage at any one time. You aim his head and breath fire at the various army forces that repeatedly attack him. If they get too close, you can swipe at them or bite them, or you can even lash out your tail to take out enemies or knock down those pesky buildings in your way.

The game features 16 levels of monster-bashin' action, and along with the armies of the world, there are 14 new mutant creatures out to stop you. You'll tread through deserts, cityscapes and the bottom of the ocean, and face monsters such as giant tentacle beasts and mechanical versions of the big green guy. While you can breath your evil breath into the faces of the enemies, you'll have to keep on destroying them to gain that breath back. So get out there and save the world, Godzilla.
