Description

If you've ever harbored fantasies of stomping through city streets and destroying stuff with your flame breath and tail whip attacks, now you can live them out in Crave's Godzilla: The Series for your Nintendo Game Boy or Game Boy Color.

While in the past the "King of Monsters" was a bad guy, this time he's on our side. While based on the animated kids' show, the game's storyline is a variation on the 1998 film starring Matthew Broderick. Godzilla hatched from an egg deep in the Manhattan sewers and bonded as a little lizard with Dr. Nick Tatopoulos. Tatopoulos is the leader of the H.E.A.T. team, a group of scientists dedicated to exploring strange occurrences around the world.

A string of attacks by alien mutant creatures has prompted the team to call upon Godzilla, whose job is to clear a path for them so they can do their investigating. The game features 12 levels stretching across diverse locales such as volcanic islands, underwater trenches, and the harbors of New York City. Six different bosses who use giant squids, cyber dolphins, tanks, helicopters, and aquatic mines must be defeated.

Godzilla has a health meter which runs down as he takes damage. If it hits zero, he won't be able to walk anymore and the game will be over. There's also a meter for his fire power, which runs down every time he uses his flaming breath. Both meters replenish themselves as you play.

The giant lizard also has plenty of other attacks on his side, such as tail whips, foot stomps, claw swipes, and bites. As he destroys enemies he earns experience points. When he earns enough he can get new abilities or upgrade existing ones. He starts the game with only fire breath, tail swipe and block as his abilities and he must earn the others.

After you complete each level you'll get a password so that you can return to the same place the next time you play. This game is also compatible with the Super Game Boy.
