About Samuel Johnson Johnson, was an English writer who made lasting contributions to English literature as a poet, essayist, moralist, literary critic, biographer, editor and lexicographer. He was a devout Anglican and a generous philanthropist. Politically, he was a committed Tory. The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography describes Johnson as "arguably the most distinguished man of letters in English history". He is also the subject of James Boswell's The Life of Samuel Johnson, described by Walter Jackson Bate as "the most famous single work of biographical art in the whole of literature". Born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, Johnson attended Pembroke College, Oxford, for just over a year, but a lack of funds forced him to leave. After working as a teacher, he moved to London, where he began to write for The Gentleman's Magazine. His early works include the biography Life of Mr Richard Savage, the poems London and The Vanity of Human Wishes, and the play Irene. About James Boswell James Boswell, 9th Laird of Auchinleck (/ˈbɒzwɛl, -wəl/; 29 October 1740 – 19 May 1795), was a Scottish biographer and diarist, born in Edinburgh. He is best known for the biography he wrote of his friend and contemporary, the English literary figure Samuel Johnson, which is commonly said to be the greatest biography written in the English language. Boswell's surname has passed into the English language as a term (Boswell, Boswellian, Boswellism) for a constant companion and observer, especially one who records those observations in print. In "A Scandal in Bohemia", Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character Sherlock Holmes affectionately says of Dr. Watson, who narrates the tales, "I am lost without my Boswell." The shipping was really fast and came four days earlier than expected. The seller was very responsive and agreed to an offer I made. That was really awesome. I got a pretty good price. The books were in worse shape than I realized. The item listing was kind of not true. There were also no pictures of some of the bad places of the books. I got it for a good price though, so you get what you pay for. Overall a pretty good seller, not the best, but pretty good.

I opened my package and found more than I ordered. There were 4 books on tape and some guitar dvd I knew I didn't order and thought they messed up. So I was going through to see what I needed to send back and find a more from Mr and Mrs Martin, said I bought so much, they sent me the rest of their inventory. I am very humble they chose me. Thank you. AAA+++ EBAYER

The books were exactly as advertised and were delivered in perfect condition. For second hand books they were high quality books, basically brand new in appearance. I rate the purchase as excellent value. I live in Australia and the books came from USA. They were very well packaged. I highly recommend this seller.
