The second volume's outer joint at the front cover is splitting, with a loss to the tail of spine. Marbled endpapers with small bookplate to top corner, with previous owner's signature. Ex-library with ink stamp to rear of title. Text is good throughout with mild age toning and occasional spotting. Some faded marginal staining along the lower edge fo both volumes. Closed tear to lower corner edge of p.163 in Vol I and occasional minor page flaw. Text in French. Tome I: xxiv + 414pp; Time II: 403pp + 10pp Publisher's list. This is a beautiful set that's 250 y/o & is in great condition; it surpassed expectations. The shipping was surprisingly quick. However, probably the most amazing thing was that these 8 books were so well packed, in such reinforced cardboard, individually bubble wrapped, that I swear, if you dropped that box off a 3 story building, I doubt a single corner would even get dinged. This went from the UK to the US, mind you. This dealer's a pro and you can feel safe when you buy from Farang Shop UK!
