Media mail can sometimes take much longer than the estimate. I have no control over that. I'm offering priority mail as an option. It's faster and more reliable, but not infallible. Books are in very good condition considering their age. Covers have some rub wear. Spines have fading. Corners bumped and frayed. Bindings and cover hinges are intact and appear very solid. Inscriptions on front endpapers. Small notation on back endpaper of vol. 2. No other markings noted. Light to moderate foxing on pastedowns and endpapers. Minimal small age-spots on text pages. There are a few small stains on page edges. The 2 most conspicuous blemishes were noted in vol. 1 and are shown in last 2 photos. Foldout facsimile of a letter written by J. J. Gurney at front of vol. 1.

The item is not just as described, but in better condition. In making an offer to purchase it, I did not notice that the seller had an ongoing sale; they accounted for this and gave me a partial refund. They did not have to do this at all and I really do appreciate their honesty. Although this book is still in print, it is difficult to find in this particular hardcover edition and despite its cost actually represents excellent value. The book was packaged well and shipped promptly.

Order came just as described. Absolutely wonderful packaging!! Evident seller took their time in packaging the order. No damage at all (there honestly could not be any damage no matter how rough the shipping process was due to how well the order was packaged).
