Limerick, ME: The Office of the Morning Star, 1831 From the description of a reprint edition: "In the year 1831, the subject of these Memoirs was persuaded by several friends, who had examined his Journal, to publish a Narrative of his labors in the ministry, especially as those labors were intimately connected with the progress of the Free-will Baptist denomination in the west." The book is now primarily notable for including the first published reference to Mormonism and The Book of Mormon. Title/copyright page is missing. Binding and hinges are very solid. Title backstrip ('Marks' Narrative') features spotting and the gilt typeface is dulled. Raised bands on spine are considerably eroded. General wear to leather boards, rounding to corners. Owner info on first page, else unmarked. Pages contain no foxing but have warped due to normal aging process.
