Description
This lot is for nine of the fourteen in the complete set. Each book is a collection of short biographies of famous individuals by Elbert Hubbard, "Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great." This is the Memorial Edition, published posthumously by the Roycrofters and Wm. A. Wise in 1916. It was edited by Fred Bann. Hubbard and his second wife, Alice Moore Hubbard, died aboard the RMS Lusitania when it was sunk by a German submarine off the coast of Ireland on May 7 1915. These nine volumes include a brown paper dust jacket. The covers are brown leatherette with tooled front and spine. Each has an illustrated frontis with guard and plates. Black and white decorations, ribbon marker, rubbed gilt top edge.
