The Manual of Dates: A Dictionary of Reference to All the Most Important Events in the History of Mankind to be Found in Authentic Records , by George H. Townsend. Published in 1862 by Routledge, Warne, & Routledge, London. Hardcover in half leather and green cloth boards (with a diamond-shaped pattern), 5 X 7.5 X 2 inches, 959 pages, listing alphabetically the many historical events of ancient and modern history and their dates (starting with Aargau, Switzerland and ending with the Battle of Zym). Index in the very back. Good condition. Leather is rubbed with a few small tears, nicks and dents, but it's intact and shedding very little, if at all (it was also treated with a preservative oil). There's a small bookstore sticker on the front endpaper, otherwise the book is unmarked. The binding is secure, but hinge papers were torn front and back (with good, but imperfect, results). A preliminary page has an edge crease. Light foxing throughout (less than average for the age of the book). Free shipping in the USA. Thanks for looking! Location: leather drawer #2
