Description
This is "Memoirs of Benvenuto Cellini", in an 1822 edition published in two volumes by Henry Colburn, London. This edition features the autobiography of this famous Florentine jeweler, with afrontispiece portrait engraved by J. Collyer. The volumes are bound in full leather with stamped and gilt decorations to the boards and spine. All page edges are marbled, and matching marbled paper was used for the endsheets, with gilt dentelles. A triumph of the binder's art! Condition of these books is Very Good Plus; there is light rubbing to the edges and wear to the corners, and a couple of dings to the cover of Volume II. Please see my other rare and fine listings.

Ed... you are AMAZING!! A FIVE-STAR eSeller!!! I just received my copy of Songs of Travel and am I impressed! First... this book should be "LIKE NEW" and the price was just so reasonable that I hated to suggest a counteroffer! Great price for the book, very reasonable and uber-FAST shipping (He was packing and printing the label almost immediately after the purchase, I believe!) and here sooner than expected! I now HATE to use the book for my audition but... I WILL! ;-) Many thanks, Ed!

Postage was reasonable. Packaging was excellent. As described. Real value for the money. A fascinating look at American diplomacy. Deals being done with countries abroad. Politics on the high seas. Communication with the White House was difficult. Decisions were made on the spot. Nice condition for its age. A fascinating read ahead. With grateful thanks. Alan.

Shipping, packaging, and value good. As described. I have long wanted this publication about the basics in railroad signaling. This goes good with other books I have about railroad construction, communications, and signaling.
