This is a Very Long Detailed Description ( NO A/I listing descriptions used here ) ONE(1) FRESH Electronic Restoration 1965 Fisher 500C FM MPX Stereo Tube Receiver with 21 tested tubes (17 are USA vintage tested tubes SN# 42397J (Production of the Fisher 500-C ca. late1963-early1967). Unit will come with Printed copies of 3 Fisher 500-C Service manuals( all SKU's , parts list, trouble shooting tips ect. and Fisher 18 page User/Operation/Setup Manual with Diagrams and full Operating Specs. Included Excellent Condition Original Fisher Cabinet. Vacuum Tubes: 4x New Matched quad JJ 7591S, 9x12AX7/A (8 are Vintage 1959-64 Balanced Sylvania tested very strong on a recently calibrated TV7D/U at or above Factory NOS levels+ 1 strong balanced GE 12AX7A early 1960's) Many of the remaining 7-pin radio (RF/IF) frequency receiving tubes are the original 'The Fisher' tubes all retested very good. All Tubes made in USA except 7591S JJ in EU-Slovenia. The Fisher cabinet is structurally sound and looks Good, It has a few scratches in the wood grain and a couple minor veneer wood chips pieces missing toward the back side (as seen in pics). We have applied several coats of Tung-Oil to the cabinet and it currently looks presentable especially from the front & top viewpoint when placed on an audio rack. The FM MPX-65 Multiplex on-chassis decoder was removed, rewired and rebuilt to Factory SKU Specs. This units Radio FM Mpx both in Multiplex Stereo & in FM Mono Circuit is one of the best well-balanced and strongest FM reception that I have heard in a receiver. The FM line level signal strength & reception is very strong in this receiver as I tested it all Day listening to my favorite local Jazz station WDNA here in Miami both with 16ohm speakers and with a pair of vintage Sony Headphones with a new simple inexpensive Dipole FM antenna (this antenna will be included in the box shipped). The headphone circuit works very well, All input device circuits are working well Line level: AUX/CD, Tape Monitor, FM Mono,FM MPX Stereo, FM Auto, Low Level Inputs: Phono High-Level & Phono Low Level working well Notes: Our 50years+ exp. with Cabinets/Cages/Covers/Consoles enclosures : ( cabinets, metal cages and Console Enclosure hinder air-flow and as such your tubes will only generally last 1/2 as long. So we suggest operating this Fisher 500C outside of its cabinet for daily use. We also suggest using all tube audio units in operation without covers. Additional we suggest using a high quality computer fan behind these tube type receivers to dissipate vacuum tube heat.
