Description
For sale is a Very Good condition leather hardcover copy of Queen Victoria by Richard R. Homes, Librarian to the Queen. Illustrated with one full color frontispiece and in black and white throughout. Features crimson leather binding, gold foil lettering on front cover and spine, gilt head fore edge of textblock, and marbled endpapers. Published in 1897 by Boussod, Valadon & Co. in London. Binding is sound and pages are unmarked, with the exception of previous owner's gift inscription on first blank page, significant closed tears to tissue protecting frontispiece, and minor occasional foxing throughout. Boards are clean and square, with the exception of minor partial separation along front head hinge, minor scuffing to corners, fore edges, and spine bands, occasional small scuffs towards tail fore edges of covers, and minor shelf wear.
