This set of five Collins Gem Dictionaries includes: Spanish-English : English-Spanish R. F. Brown 1957 English-French : French-English Gustave Rudler and Norman C. Anderson 1952 New Gem Dictionary Ernest Weekley and Anne Scott 1954 German-English : English-German J. M. Clark 1953 Italian-English : English-Italian Isopel May 1956 Each book is approximately 3 1/8" x 4 1/2". Together they would span about 4 1/8" on a bookshelf. I believe the covers are leather. It is a lovely set, but there is some wear. The hinges are not in good condition, see the photos as an example. There is heavy creasing on some sections of pages, some pages have wear/tear, a detached page here and there, etc. The covers have some wear and cracking, and a subtle crease can be seen in some angles (see photos). The gold and black look very classy, and the gilded page edges are a nice touch! Please review the photos as they are part of the description. I have had several issues shipping books via Media Mail recently and so have decided to only ship via USPS Ground or Priority. This has to be the best wrapped item that I have ever gotten from eBay. It was shipped with the utmost care, wrapped in paper, put in a zip-lock bag and then wrapped in paper again before putting it in the box. The book was in better condition than the photos portrayed and I am just over the moon on this purchase. Thank you so very much to all of you that made this happen for me ;)
