Description
The author, Dr. David Ramsay (1749-1815), was a noted South Carolinian patriot and historian of the Revolutionary War period. He published noted histories on the American Revolution and South Carolina. The work presented here, "The Life of George Washington, Commander in Chief of the Armies of the United States of America throughout the War which Established their Independence, and First President of the United States", was first published in 1807, eight years after Washington's death. It was reprinted many times thereafter. This first edition is small quarto with a leather spine, marbled boards and end papers, top edge gilt, frontispiece, and 376pp. The appendix includes his last will and testament. The binding is tight, the pages are supple, and the book is in overall good++ condition.

When I pay $133 for a book, I should think the seller would ship in more than a bubble envelope with a cardboard wrap. The only reason I didn't leave negative fb is because by some miracle, the book made it.
