After numerous communications with the seller, the item was returned, and a full discount was issued for the item (but not the cost of my return shipping). The experience was not totally negative. I will go through Ebay for any future issues and returns (which I failed to do this time). Regardless, I feel much more positive about the outcome than I previously did.
